Open social-media links in a private native media viewer

Republished from GitHub / F-Droid by the Zapstore main account.

Unfurlit extracts media from supported social-media links locally and opens it in a native Android viewer. Share a link to Unfurlit, choose it from Open With, or paste a URL in the app. Videos and audio stream without creating a permanent user-visible download. Images support zoom and pan, galleries support swiping, and videos support portrait-aware sizing and immersive fullscreen playback. Videos can continue in a picture-in-picture window, and videos and audio keep playing in the background with notification and lock-screen controls. Supported links and media: - YouTube: videos and Shorts. - Instagram: videos, Reels, photos and carousels (no photo-post soundtracks). - TikTok: videos and photo posts, including available photo soundtracks. - Reddit and X/Twitter: videos, photos and galleries. - PeerTube: videos. - Imgur, Bluesky, Flickr and many other sites: photos and galleries. Other sites may work too; audio and galleries depend on the source. Availability varies by post, region and platform changes. Private, login-gated or restricted posts may not open; signing in is not available. Unfurlit has no ads, analytics, mandatory account, or project-operated backend. The device still contacts the original platform and its media hosts, so viewing is not anonymous. Some private, age-restricted, regional, or login-gated media may require cookies and is not supported.
