    - Programs that start a Node.js child process work: npm install scripts, `npx`, build tools, VS Code's helpers, Electron apps. Before, every such child aborted at startup with only a native stack trace. - Cause: proot's fake root turned `fstat` on a socket into a `stat` of `socket:[N]`, which fails. Node checks its standard streams with `fstat`, and a child gets sockets for them. Now anything that isn't a file gets the real `fstat`. - `libproot.so` rebuilt with `./build.sh` (NDK r26d), and the README notes the patch. **Tested** on a phone: `npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code` (whose install step runs Node) now completes, and Claude Code runs.
