Phoenix is a next-generation Bitcoin wallet that lets you send and receive Bitcoin easily. Phoenix natively supports Lightning for fast and cheap transactions. It's easy, you don't have to do anything: Lightning channels are automatically created by the wallet when needed and you can check their status on Bitcoin explorers. Phoenix is also self-custodial: you (and only you) have control of the key of the wallet. Backup the key, and make sure to keep it safe!

- Sep 8, 2026 2.8.2This release adds new languages to the app : Italian, Japanese, Polish, Ukrainian for Android, and Korean for both Android and iOS (thanks @maxbitcoiner). It also brings a few fixes for iOS and Android, including a stricter validation of LNURL-pay success actions and a fix for amount parsing in Bip-21 URIs (thanks @Grey-Bound for the help). On Android, in addition to the existing slider, you can now also manually edit the feerate when making an outgoing on-chain transaction. This brings the Android app inline with the iOS app. ### Full changelog - phoenix: https://github.com/ACINQ/phoenix/compare/android-v2.8.1...android-v2.8.2

Beforehand, it was easy for third parties to detect if a Bitcoin transaction was related to a Lightning channel operation. Existing channels are automatically transformed to taproot channels when they perform an on-chain operation. For example, if they receive a Lightning payment that needs to expand the channel (splice-in) ; or if they send funds on-chain (splice-out).

Newly created channels are always taproot channels. More information available here: - https://github.com/ACINQ/lightning-kmp/pull/805 - https://github.com/lightning/bolts/pull/995 ### Multi-wallets You can now manage multiple wallets on the same instance of Phoenix. To help distinguish between wallets, you can give a name and a photo to your wallets. Lock/Spending PIN codes are specific to a wallet. To create a new wallet or switch to another one, go to Settings and tap on the Wallet button in the top section.
