- Sep 28, 2026 1.17.2Small version that focuses on fixing the account switcher, it contains this: - add a search bar to the instance picker - fix account switching - fix account avatar loading - always show full url in account switcher page
- Sep 23, 2026 1.17.1Small version with a couple fixes and features - fixed the app crashing on iOS when opening a profile from a mention or from any other link - account switcher now does not show repeated text, only the @ - deleting one of your account does not mess up the account switcher anymore - add a confirm dialog to the "delete all" button in account switcher - MODERATION LOG screen - move the settings categories a little more, merging profile and account - changed the redirection when posting an as user from a different instance to the one you are currently logged on and using, now it properly redirects to the post in that case too
- Sep 11, 2026 1.17.0This release brings BIG CHANGES to the *woot editor* (yes, again) I have tried to bring to the wooting experience of the app of the new features main wafrn has been introduced in relation to wooting and woot creation settings, all created by my friend gabbo, who is on fire lately 🔥 The biggest thing is the new corner menu in the big `Woot!` button in the top right corner of the woot editor. This menu will be the new place for woot posting special modes such as Articles, Queued and Scheduled posts and Drafts. It contains this: - Save as draft / make draft public. A more explicit draft creation button, easier to reach. Makes more sense reaching here than on the bottom on the privacy selector (but that button is still there too), - *Convert to article* brings a couple of fields for article title and article url on the top part of the input, in the style of the content warning field. The URL (slug) is initially generated from the title (accents and symbols cleaned up) and you can edit it by hand - Add to queue: the server publishes it later when it has some alone time (min. 1 hour) - Schedule post: pick a date and time for the woot to go out. The server checks every 15 minutes so expect a small delay.

Also a new thing in the editor, the *exclusivity toggle*. You can now choose where your public posts go: to bluesky (atproto) only, to the fediverse or to both (default). This also comes with a new toggle in the related settings screen to configure a default value, in case you want to always posts only to bluesky or only to fedi. Important fixes were done to the privacy selector and now the appropiate options show ad disabled in all cases of edit, reply and quote Also, for consistency, now all places that said "post" now say "woot", including the "posting settings" which are now "woot editor settings" More post related things: - we got the "refederate post" button in the interaction button to try re-sending your post if that failed for some reason - we got PINNED POSTS with a small cute pinned ribbon - the Content Warning UI in feeds went through a big re-design with the help of the community, now it supports HTML content and uses a yellow gradient background with the toggle button color also changed - Also, the most awaited feature for this, at least by me, *FEED DEDUPE*: _When several replies of the same thread show up in a feed, only the newest one is shown instead of repeating the thread once per reply_. This is a opt-in setting because I'm yet not sure if it will work, and have to do some checks on production. It if works well enough and people want it, maybe I'll make it opt-out for the next version, so I'll thank you if you can tell me how it goes. But that is not all, this release also got some minor changes for navigation and user profiles: - The Main Menu now has two more items: Queued posts and Scheduled posts. Old item "Followed hashtags" was moved to settings and the "my profile" row was removed to make space since you can already tap your avatar. - Now the use profile page will show a "has blocked you" if some user has you blocked. - The action buttons in the user profile page got a small text label below them to make sure no one is confused which icon is which thing - also the instance favicon load agains (NO MORE FISH) making that the last call of the old cache route gone - the prompt modals (in bluesky settings, report posts and ask) now all use the same color for the confirm button - opening of links was fixed by checking known instances and not parsing links for unknown ones - Sep 2, 2026 1.16.1Oops not all bluesky people have rpg.actor stuff forgot that in the last change
- Aug 23, 2026 1.15.1Small release with a small correction: from this version on, the version checks will be made against F-Droid API not against Codeberg API, since the last version to be published is always the one on F-Droid, now the "you are using an outdated version of the app" banner will only show when the new versions are published to F-Droid
- Aug 18, 2026 1.14.0Most of the work in this version went into the new web version of the app, now live at https://wafrn-rn.app. On native, these are the changes worth mentioning: - text and emojis now follow the system font size setting so if you change your font size in your device it will affect the sizes of text boxes in the app properly (line height is scaled too) - all icon-only buttons across the app have proper labels now, so TalkBack and VoiceOver announce them correctly - all the modals now use the bottom-sheet component, with proper support for keyboard handling and toasts - new emoji picker design that covers only half of the screen height - "Unauthorized notifications" is now called "Unapproved notifications" completing the work of this web version has taken me waaaay longer than expected, so I hope after finishing this task I can come back to do the more requested features and fix the more annoying bug. Let's see if I have the energy for it!
- Jun 1, 2026 1.13.6Small release that disabled update banner on iOS. Nothing new on android
- May 14, 2026 1.13.5Advancing more on reproducible builds. This time we will get the signatures right
- May 13, 2026 1.13.4Full reproducibility pass. All reproducibility tweaks clear. None unused. All set to a similar syntax and extracted to an external `reproducible-builds.gradle` file. Also adjusted hermes compiler flags to reduce debug info
- May 10, 2026 1.13.3The changes in this version make it easier to build the app from source. With a new build that uses a different library for the editor canvas, replaced `react-native-skia` with `react-native-svg` so the use case fits better and the apk size is now 4MB less. Also, some small features added: - the editor canvas now always has a background, and the background color selector has been improved - the settings page now does not include a donations link on iOS
- May 7, 2026 1.13.2Another small patch to improve reproducible builds
- Mar 24, 2026 1.12.0### wooting in public big media rework on this one: the new cacher is coming this is a bugfixing release but it also brings some new design because you gotta have that. Main things: - images now render at proper sizes instead of loading the full thing everywhere (which crashed the app silently before) - Old cacher is almost completely gone. All emojis, avatars, headers and medias now use the new cacher - and feature an image load retry button. - Also the download system for images was improved a lot and now it should fail less
More…
- your feed should be a bit snappier, because the performance of bookmarks and rewoot state has been improved - better emoji replacement in posts and faster emoji lookup - new editor design ("wooting in public") makes more space for the drafts button - fixed the editor bug where your post text would reset while images were still uploading - fixed the spacing of the modal for editing the alt text of uploads so it no longer gets cut at the bottom wrongly - "no more posts" message on empty dashboard instead of infinite blackness - unified design for asks. Ask cards now look the same in ask pages, editor and posts - null profile descriptions no longer crash the html renderer on user pages - new in-app version check (using codeberg api) so you know when there's an update available - expo-unified-push updated to v0.5.0 to support older android devices (https://github.com/juandjara/expo-unified-push/issues/2) - Feb 25, 2026 1.11.0- add warning text to reply control - detect different registration types in the instance picker and modify the register page with related mesaages - add the case for registration with invite code - make sure we always say server instead of instance - make the account switcher work between different instances
- Feb 23, 2026 1.10.1couple bugfixes here: - anon asks now display properly (not so sure about this though) - turns out that the fix for duplicated tags broke some other things so it was time for *another* dashboard context refactor. Let's see if it goes faster or slower. What it should not have is duplicated or missing content.
- Feb 20, 2026 1.10.0This release brings A LOT of new features: - You can have your PRONOUNS side by side with your url. To see it, set a custom field with the name "pronouns" in your profile (case insensitive) - interaction control for external posts (now wafrn will respect when a post from an external instance is not quotable, or you cannot reply) - Now you can write DRAFTS for your posts. Select privacy level "draft" to write a draft and then access the draft menu to edit and publish it - separate notifications into standard and unauthorized ones with a toggle - color text only emoji reactions - Now you can have INTERACTION CONTROL on the post editor. This is a design partially copied from bsky - fixed duplicated likes, duplicated reactions and duplicated tags on post thread view
- Jan 27, 2026 1.9.15- fixed a very dumb bug introduced in last version (likes with a count of 0)
