Calendula

Calendula is a calendar app for the calendars you already have. It works directly on Android's system calendar provider, so every account already synced to your device shows up automatically — Google, Nextcloud via DAVx5, local calendars, WebCal subscriptions. Changes you make sync back the same way. Calendula does not add an account of its own and does not sync anything itself: it is the interface, your device stays the source of truth. VIEWS • Month, week, day and agenda views • Three ways to read a month: paged, continuously scrolling without a break between months, or a compact dot grid with the day you tap listed underneath • Optional week numbers • Search across your events • Show or hide individual calendars, or switch one off app-wide EVENTS • Create, edit, duplicate and delete events • Move an event to another calendar without recreating it • Recurring events with scoped changes: only this event, this and all following, or the whole series • A repeat picker that stays readable instead of asking you to write rules • Give an event its own time zone — 8:00 in New York stays 8:00 in New York, across daylight-saving changes REMINDERS • Delivered as notifications — tap one and you are on the event • Several default lead times per calendar, or per-calendar overrides • Snooze by a preset or any duration you pick MAKE IT YOURS • Dynamic colour, light and dark • Choose the view the app opens on, and which views the switcher cycles through • Start the week on any day; 12- or 24-hour clock • Pick heading and body fonts — bundled faces or any .ttf/.otf from your device • Show your calendars' exact colours, or let them soften to fit the theme • Dim or hide events that have already ended • Rename the launcher icon to "Calendar" if you prefer ON YOUR HOME SCREEN • Agenda and month widgets • A Quick Settings tile for creating an event IMPORT, EXPORT, BACKUP • Open .ics and .vcs files from mail, browsers and file managers • Export the calendars you choose, and read events back in from a file • Optional automatic backup to a folder you pick — handy with Syncthing CONTACT SPECIAL DATES Optionally show your contacts' birthdays, anniversaries and other special dates alongside your events. You turn this on yourself. Contacts are read on your device only, are never uploaded and are never modified — the dates are mirrored into local calendars you fully control. WORKS WITH YOUR OTHER APPS Calendula answers the "add to calendar" and "edit event" hand-offs other apps and assistants send, so a booking confirmation or a task app can drop an event straight into your calendar. ACCESSIBILITY Atkinson Hyperlegible is bundled as a font option, text follows Android's own scaling, and if you have turned animations off in your device settings, Calendula honours it throughout. LANGUAGES English, German, Polish, French, Italian and Spanish, with Arabic (right-to-left) and Simplified Chinese under way — all translated by the community. Contributions are welcome. DESIGN Material 3 Expressive throughout, with dynamic color, expressive motion and expressive shapes. PRIVACY Calendula has no internet permission at all. There is no telemetry, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party services. Your data cannot leave your device, because the app is technically incapable of sending it anywhere.
