backchat is a Linux client for the bitchat protocol: serverless chat over a Bluetooth LE mesh. Messages hop peer to peer with a short time to live, so the room works with no internet at all; geohash channels and private messages ride Nostr relays when there is one. Wire compatible with the upstream bitchat iOS and Android clients: join the same room as nearby phones without an account, a server, or a phone number.
