  ## What's Changed ### New Features - **Add a photo to any item.** Tap the camera square next to an item's name to take a photo or choose one you already have. It's handy for showing exactly which brand to buy, especially when the label is in a language you don't read. Everyone in the space sees it, as a small picture in the list, and can open it full screen and zoom in to read the label. - **Photos are there when you're in the shop.** Each phone keeps its own copy, so the photo is on your phone even if the phone that took it is switched off or out of range.

  - **Photos don't fill up your phone.** When an item or list is deleted, or you leave a space, its photos are removed from every phone. You can see how much space photos use in Settings, under Lists & aisles. ### Bug Fixes - **Picking a profile picture no longer fails if you take your time.** If you spent more than about 20 seconds choosing a picture, PearList could reload and lose it. It now waits for you.

  ## What's Changed Bug Fixes - PearList would not open on some phones. The app clears out old data in the background to save space, and it was removing a little too much. On a phone where that happened, opening PearList gave a black screen, or a black screen with a spinner that never stopped. Restarting the phone did not help, and neither did clearing the app's cache. This is fixed, so it cannot happen again. - If a space still will not open, PearList now tells you and offers to fix it. Before, a space it could not open looked like a space with nothing in it, which is alarming and easy to misread as your lists having been deleted. It now says what happened and what to do about it. Your lists were never deleted. - The app no longer sits on a spinner with nothing to say. If the part of PearList that holds your lists fails to start, you get a screen explaining that, with a button to copy the details so you can send them to us. New Features

  - Rebuild a space from another phone in your household. If a space on this phone will not open, PearList offers to copy the lists back from someone else's phone. Open PearList on their phone, leave it on screen, and tap Rebuild. It tries a plain retry first, since a space is sometimes just slow to open and that is usually all it needs. Improvements - Tapping a reminder takes you to the item. It used to open the right list and leave you to find the thing you were reminded about, which on a long shopping list is most of the point of the reminder. Now it scrolls to the item and highlights it. If someone has already ticked it off or deleted it, the list still opens and a message says why nothing is highlighted.

  ## What's Changed New Features - Add an item straight into a section. Every section heading on a list now has a "+". Tap it and whatever you type goes into that section, instead of the app deciding where it belongs and you having to drag it back. Tap the tag above the keyboard to change your mind.

  ## What's Changed ### Improvements - Setting a reminder time is quicker. The time now moves in quarter hours instead of five-minute steps, so getting to 6:45 takes three taps rather than nine. A reminder already set to something like 6:05 moves to the nearest quarter hour the first time you nudge it.

  ## What's Changed ### New - **Tick it off and it's gone.** A new setting makes items leave the list the moment you check them, instead of sitting there with a line through them. A list you shop every week stays as short as what is still to get, however many times you have used it. - It's off unless you turn it on, in Settings under "Lists & aisles". Nothing about your lists changes until you ask for it. - Ticked the wrong thing? You get a few seconds to undo, and the item comes back unticked, ready to buy again. - Chore lists are left alone, so you can still tick the chores off and reset them for next week.

Link a second phone from Settings and it becomes *you*, not a new person: your spaces, your name and anything assigned to you show up on both. - Your spaces follow you. Set your name once and it stays yours on every phone you have, instead of changing depending on which one you last used. - Save a copy of a space to a file, and open it back later.   ### Improvements - Removing someone from a space now removes every phone they have, not just the one you tapped. - People show up once in the member list, however many phones they use, and assigning an item reaches all of them. - Give each of your phones a name, so the list of your devices is readable. - Settings sections fold away, so the screen is shorter and easier to scan. - If a pairing was left half-finished, you get a clear "Start over" instead of a stuck screen. - A smaller download and a faster start. ### Security - Your recovery phrase now lives in your phone's own secure keystore, and is kept out of Android's cloud backup. - A phone you remove loses its key to the space, so it stops reading new changes rather than just disappearing from the list. ### Bug Fixes - PearList could open to a black screen and stay there. It now recovers by itself. - A background error could close the app. It no longer does. - Your list of spaces now refreshes straight after linking or removing a phone. - The messages around removing a person or a phone say what actually happens, and no longer promise more than they do or contradict the result. - If you are the owner and using your second phone, you can now manage the space from it too. - An empty space now explains why it looks empty, and you can leave one that will not sync.

  ### Removed - Local AI. It found the right aisle under half the time and cost a 0.8 GB download. Sorting is faster and more accurate without it, and that 0.8 GB is deleted for you. ### Bug Fixes - Settings now shows the version of PearList you are actually running.   ## What's Changed ### Saved lists -Shopping for the same things every week? Save a list and start a fresh copy of it whenever you like, instead of typing it out again. -Open a list, tap its options and choose "Save as template". After that, "Start from a saved list" appears above where you add lists. The new list arrives with everything unticked and each item already in the right aisle. -Saved lists stay on your own phone, so nothing about them reaches anyone else in your household until you start one.

  ### Connect Anywhere -Your phones normally talk straight to each other, but some mobile networks block that, and until now a list you changed while out could sit unsynced until you got home. -PearList can now fall back to a PeerLoom relay that passes the scrambled data along, so your lists keep syncing wherever you are. The relay cannot read your lists. It only sees that two devices are talking and how much data went by, and it keeps nothing. -It is on by default, and there is a switch in Settings if you would rather stay strictly phone to phone. Underneath it, a line tells you whether it has actually been needed. ### A much smaller download -The app is roughly half the size it was. Same features, same on-device AI, far less to download and less space used on your phone.

  ## What's Changed ### Notes Lists are not the only thing a household needs to share. PearList now has notes: a plain, free-text page for the wifi password, a recipe, what the plumber said, anything that is not a tick-box. A note lives in your space like any other list, so everyone sees it and everyone can edit it. Two people typing in the same note at the same time is fine.   Renaming or deleting a list now happens behind a confirmation. Deleting is shared and permanent, so a stray tap should not wipe a note the whole house was using. ### Picks up where you left off Come back to PearList and it reopens the space and list you were last looking at, instead of dropping you at the overview every time. ### Fixes - Fixed a frozen screen when returning to PearList on GrapheneOS. The app looked stuck, taps did nothing visible, and only a restart cleared it. - Fixed note text going missing if you switched apps a moment after typing it.
