Tally records border crossings and counts the days you spend in each country. Crossings can include separate departure and arrival dates, local time, city or place, notes, trip names, and purpose tags. The Deadlines tab brings document expiries, permit limits, residence return dates, the current stay, and projected country limits into one chronological view. Long-range dates use readable months or years and months while retaining exact day calculations and matching local notifications. Hypothetical dated plans and an undated country wishlist stay separate from authoritative travel history. A record audit identifies gaps, overlaps, incomplete periods, and ambiguous same-day order without making legal conclusions. The Journey view includes an offline world map, statistics, 29 milestones, annual recaps, CSV/PDF exports, and a searchable timeline. Country search supports locale-aware names and aliases without sending queries anywhere. Tally supports jurisdiction tax years, rolling and consecutive tests, Schengen 90/180, CA-4, permits, personal limits, and sourced residence- maintenance reminders where recorded inputs support the calculation. The residency picker shows each automatic cadence, and existing supported residences receive a missed reminder on launch. Passport, ID-card, driver’s-license, and other-document records include identity, issuer, holder, validity, and licence-category fields with optional local expiry reminders. Sensitive identity stays encrypted and is excluded from human-readable reports. A strict offline JSON import can load stays, border crossings, trip metadata, complete document records, and hypothetical plans. User-selected rule-pack updates are accepted only when signed by Tally’s production identity. Travel data stays in an encrypted SQLCipher database. Optional app lock uses biometric or device-credential authentication, and passphrase-encrypted backups move through Android’s system file picker. Tally is MIT licensed.
