  ### Added - **Tablet mode for the child feed** — a new per-child setting lays the feed out as a grid of videos (2–3 across) that your child can browse in any orientation, with a button to make a video fullscreen. It's off by default, which keeps the familiar single-column view that fills the screen when you turn the device sideways. Turn it on per child under Parent → Child settings. On a computer or large browser window the grid turns on automatically. - **Send photos in group chat** — you can now attach one or more images to a group message with the paperclip button, and images others send show up right in the conversation instead of as a plain link. ### Fixed - **Buttons no longer hide behind the keyboard** — on Android, the main button on the sign-up and upload screens now rides up above the on-screen keyboard instead of being covered by it, so you can always reach it. - **Navigation always available for parents** — the bottom navigation bar no longer disappears on tablets and large screens, so you can always move between Home, Feed, Trust, Upload, and Support.

  ### Changed - **Plain, friendly language throughout** — Kubo now speaks in everyday words instead of technical jargon: "relays" are called "places", "follow packs" are called "profile lists", and search boxes simply say "Search by name". Draft and publishing messages talk about "your account" and being "online" rather than relays. - **Trust is always on for every child** — the option to turn off TEPP trust enforcement has been removed. Protecting a child's feed is core to Kubo and can no longer be switched off. - **Support page now invites your feedback** — the support page actively asks you to report bugs and share feedback, and points you to the Kubo Testers and Signal group chats as the place to do it. It also shows the Web of Trust Foundation branding. ### Fixed - **YouTube channels no longer show up twice** — adding a YouTube channel to a child's feed no longer makes it appear under both "YouTube Channels" and "Profiles". Channels are managed in one place; their videos still appear in the feed. - **No more flashing "Suggested" tag** — the Kubo Testers chat tile no longer briefly flashes a "Suggested" tag on startup for parents who already joined. - **Relay search under Trust now finds the same places as Feed** — searching for a place (e.g. relay.damus.io) under Trust → Places now finds it, matching the Feed sources search, and you can paste a place URL directly. - **Child feed shows the "Next post" button again** — a freshly set-up child now correctly gets the default settings, so the "Next post" button appears and the feed is properly paced instead of scrolling endlessly.

  ### Added - **Parent-curated YouTube channels** — parents can search for a YouTube channel and add it to the kid feed, so children only see videos from channels you've personally approved. - **Support page** — a dedicated place for help: Signal contact, donate link, and the Testers group, with an unread indicator. It takes over the old "Alerts" nav slot. ### Changed - **Faster YouTube channel search & add** — adding a channel no longer takes ~10 seconds. A new HTTP fast lane plus optimistic UI means the channel shows up immediately. - **Fullscreen kid videos** — kid videos now rotate to fullscreen in landscape. - **Simpler feed settings** — the inherited Ditto feed options are consolidated into a clear "Content Types" section. - **Cleaner video descriptions** — the redundant watch URL is stripped from the end of video descriptions.

  ### Fixed - **@mentions in group chat** — tagging someone now shows their @name (clickable) instead of a raw `nostr:npub1…`, and the message box has mention autocomplete. - **First-run parent tour** — coachmarks no longer overflow on narrow phones. - **Search typeahead** — search now waits for all relays before showing results, removing the flicker, and keeps your sort order on the first query. - **Parent stays in the parent area** — clicking a note or profile in feed-preview no longer kicks you out of the parent shell. - **Trust publishing** — trust events are gated on actual enforcement state rather than a mirror flag, so they publish correctly.

  ### Fixed - **Removed in-app version notifications** — the post-update "What's new" pop-up has been removed. It linked into release notes that could take you out of Kubo, so the notification is now disabled.

  ### Added - **Trust-gated kid feed** — every post, profile, reaction, and repost a child can see or interact with now flows through Kubo's Trust Extended Permissions Protocol (TEPP), so the feed is scoped to people the parent has admitted — no strangers, no algorithmic reach-around. - **Group chat** — parents can create and join managed group chats, including private groups, directly from Kubo. ### Changed - **Trust is on by default** — new installs start with the trust gate enabled and the child's circle seeded during onboarding, so the feed is safe from the very first launch instead of needing setup first. - **Smoother startup** — a single loading screen now holds until the feed and its first thumbnails are actually ready, including during onboarding and when switching back from the parent area, so the feed no longer flashes empty. - **New version scheme** — Kubo now uses calendar versioning (`vYEAR.MONTH.DAY`), so the version number is simply the date the build was released.   ### Added - **Group chat support** — parents can now create and join NIP-29 managed groups, including private groups, directly from Kubo. ### Fixed - **Amber bunker sign-in** now completes reliably; the listener no longer drops successful logins on re-render and the same fix applies to onboarding. ### Changed - **Default video feed improved** — normal videos are on by default for new installs so the feed feels alive out of the box. - **Short-form videos disabled by default** — the addictive short-video reel is off until a parent opts in.

  ### Added - **First release-signed public build of Kubo** — published to Zapstore with a permanent release keystore and Nostr identity. Existing debug-signed v0.1.x–v0.3.x APKs cannot upgrade in place (uninstall + reinstall once). - Full Kubo metadata in the Zapstore listing (icon, screenshots, family-focused description, supported NIPs). ### Notes - Versions before 0.4.1 were sideload-only test builds signed with the shared Android debug key. From 0.4.1 onward, Kubo is signed with a dedicated release key controlled by the project.
