  ## WildBit 0.1.1 ### New - **Explore: route preview and offline corridor download.** Tapping a curated route now shows it on the main pixel-art map (camera fits to the whole route automatically) and offers a one-tap offline download of a ~400m-wide corridor around it — enough to hike it with the phone offline, without downloading a whole region. The download shows an upfront size estimate and live per-cell progress, and reuses the same map-data cache the app already fills in as you walk/pan — no new storage or tracking added. - **Explore: search by city name.** A new field geocodes a typed place name (via OpenStreetMap's Nominatim) and searches around it instead of your current GPS position. - **Explore: radius is now a typable field** instead of a slider, for precise values. ### Fixed

  - The map camera sometimes failed to fit a newly selected route on the very first frame after switching from Explore — FlutterMap's viewport can still report an invalid size at that exact moment, which silently turned the fit into a no-op instead of zooming to the route. It's now retried until the viewport is actually ready. - The new altitude readout (added in 0.1.0) was landing almost exactly on top of the existing label-toggle button in the map's right-side control column; the whole column is now consistently spaced. ### Internal - `MapDataRepository` — previously a defined-but-unused interface — is now what the new route-download logic actually depends on, making it testable without real network access. - Added test coverage for the route corridor calculation, the download state machine, Waymarked Trails' route-geometry parsing, and the Nominatim client. Signed with the same release key as 0.1.0 — this is a clean in-place update, no reinstall needed.

Its centerpiece is a pixel-art geographic map rendered from OpenStreetMap data through an original semantic compositor — not a raster map with a filter, but forests, water, trails, buildings, and POIs turned into a small illustrated world that Bit, the mascot, physically walks through. > [!WARNING] > This is an **alpha prototype**. It is not a certified navigation device and must not be used as the sole source for choosing or following a route.
