Private, offline notes with folders, tags, and a lock for sensitive entries.

CypherLeaf is a clean, private note-taking app for Android. It works fully offline, has no ads, no trackers, and no account. Your notes stay on your device. Features: * Notes with folders and tags to keep things organised * Pin important notes to the top * Trash with restore, so a delete is never final by accident * App lock using your device biometric or screen lock * Protected notes: individual notes and their attachments are encrypted with AES-GCM, and the key is held in the Android Keystore, separate from the notes database * Attachments on notes * Reminders with notifications * A home-screen widget for recent and pinned notes * Export notes as plain text, Markdown, or JSON * Encrypted portable backup protected by a passphrase (PBKDF2 + AES-GCM), so you can move your notes to a new device safely * Light and dark themes, with an adjustable font size Privacy: CypherLeaf requests no internet permission in its release build, so it cannot send your notes anywhere. Fonts are bundled with the app rather than downloaded. Protected notes and encrypted backups never leave the device in readable form. Only notes you mark as protected are encrypted. Other notes are kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read, but they are not encrypted by CypherLeaf. Android's own cloud backup and phone-to-phone transfer are switched off, so nothing is copied off the device unless you export it; use the encrypted backup to move to a new phone.

    ## CypherLeaf 1.2.0 ### Added - "New folder" in the Move to folder sheet, from both the note editor and the notes list, so a note can be filed into a brand-new folder in one step - A show/hide eye button on backup passphrase fields, to check what was typed before saving ### Improved - Encrypted backups are stronger: the file header is now authenticated along with the contents, and the passphrase key derivation uses 600,000 PBKDF2 rounds (up from 210,000). Older encrypted backups still restore, but CypherLeaf 1.1.0 and earlier cannot open backups made by 1.2.0 - Long folder lists scroll in the Move to folder sheet, so every folder and the New folder row stay reachable - Unlocking with App lock returns to exactly the screen you were on

    ### Fixed - A failed read from Android's secure storage could erase the key for protected notes or the auto-backup passphrase; it now stays an error that can be retried - The fingerprint prompt could crash on Android 8 and older
