Zapstore Catalog One light app for earbuds of many brands. No account, no internet, no tracking
PairFree aims to be one app for the settings of nearly any earbuds and headphones. It replaces heavy, brand-specific apps with a light, fast one that talks to your earbuds directly over Bluetooth. Why PairFree: • No account: nothing to sign up for or log in to • No internet: the app has no internet permission, so it cannot go online • Nothing leaves your phone unless you share it yourself, such as a device report or an equalizer profile. No ads, no analytics, no crash reports, no cloud backup of your settings • One app to rule them all: the same screens for every brand, instead of one vendor app each • Few permissions: Bluetooth, for earbuds you have already paired, and notifications for the optional status notification. For JBL models alone, finding nearby devices, asked for only when you open one and never used for your location. No location, no contacts • Small and quick: about 3 MB, with no login and no server to wait for • Open source (GPL-3.0), with every protocol documented and tested in its repository • Your equalizer as files: save your own curves, and export and share them Supported brands: • SOUNDPEATS: 47 models, tried on the H3, Air5 Pro+, C30 and TRUEFREE Clip C10. Other models use the same protocol and should work • Soundcore (Anker): 66 models, tried on the Space A40, AeroClip and Sleep A20. Built on the open-source OpenSCQ30 • Samsung Galaxy Buds: 16 models, from the 2019 Buds to the Buds4 Pro, not yet tried on real earbuds. Built on the open-source GalaxyBudsClient and Samsung's own plugin • Sony: 24 models, from the WH-1000XM2 to the WH-1000XM6, WF-1000XM5 and LinkBuds, not yet tried on real headphones. Written from Sony's own app and checked against the open-source Gadgetbridge • Bose: 22 models, from the QC35 to the QC Ultra 2 headphones and earbuds, not yet tried with PairFree. Written from Bose's own app and the open-source bosectl. PairFree never signs in to Bose's cloud, so anything that needs it stays out of reach • AirPods and Beats on Apple's chips: 30 models, not yet tried with PairFree. Ported from the open-source LibrePods. Android 17 is needed, or a Pixel on Android 16 QPR3, or a OnePlus, OPPO or realme phone on Android 16 • JBL: 102 models, from the Tune 520BT to the Tour Pro 3, tried on the Live Buds 3. Written from JBL's own app and checked against the open-source JblTray • Nothing and CMF: 19 models, from the Ear (1) to the Headphone (1), not yet tried with PairFree. Written from Nothing X and checked against the open-source nada and nadamas • Google Pixel Buds: the Pixel Buds, A-Series, Pro, Pro 2 and 2a, not yet tried with PairFree. Written from Google's Pixel Buds app and checked against the open-source pbpctrl What it controls, on the models that have each: • Battery for each earbud and the case • Noise control: off, noise cancelling, transparency or ambient sound, with their scenes and levels • The equalizer: the brand's presets, your own curves and saved profiles • Touch controls: what each tap and hold does on each earbud, and turning touch off • Game mode, two devices at once, LDAC and LE Audio • The ear tip fit test, find my earbuds, voice prompts and water drain • Settings only one brand has, such as each Galaxy Bud's ambient sound level, voice detect, Sony's speak-to-chat and DSEE upscaling, Bose's listening modes, JBL's TalkThru, or the AirPods' Conversation Awareness • A status notification with the battery and buttons for noise control and game mode, in place of Google's Fast Pair notification if you like PairFree shows only what your earbuds support. If your model has not been tried, the Device tab copies a device report you can send, so it can be added for everyone. Record from the official app goes further: it reads, on your phone, what the brand's own app sends to your earbuds when you change a setting (and on SOUNDPEATS earbuds the equalizer curves), so PairFree can learn to do the same. It keeps nothing but the messages exchanged with your earbuds, and the report i

- Nov 5, 2026 0.7.2PairFree is an open replacement for earbud brands' own apps: it controls SOUNDPEATS, Soundcore (Anker), Samsung Galaxy Buds, Sony, Bose, JBL, AirPods and Apple-chip Beats, Nothing and CMF, Google Pixel Buds, QCY, 1MORE and EarFun, from one app. It never uses the internet and has no account. Install: download `PairFree-0.7.2.apk` below and open it, or get it from F-Droid once it is listed there. It updates 0.7.1 in place. ## Changes since 0.7.1 - **JBL touch controls on 35 more models**, written exactly as JBL's own app writes them: - The Airoha-chip earbuds: Live Buds 3, Live Free 2, Quantum TWS and TWS Air, Reflect Aero, Reflect Mini NC, Live Free NC+ and Endurance Race 2. Each earbud's gesture map is written and copied to the other earbud, as JBL's app does. - 23 newer models (the Live 4, Tune 3, Vibe 3 and Wave 3 generations, Live 680NC and 780NC, Tune 530BT to 785NC): each gesture's function is chosen on its own, as on JBL's customized button page. - The Live 670NC, 770NC, 675NC and 775NC headphones. - Not yet: the Quantum 360 and 910 headsets' dials and button, the Tour One's touch panel, and the ten older BES models' gestures.

- None of the new touch controls has been tried on real earbuds yet: a device report from any of these models helps (Device tab, Copy device report). Tried on real earbuds: by the project's owner, the SOUNDPEATS H3 and Air5 Pro+ and the Soundcore Space A40; from users' device reports, the SOUNDPEATS C30 and TRUEFREE Clip C10, the Soundcore AeroClip, Q20i and Sleep A20, the JBL Live Buds 3 and the Google Pixel Buds Pro. Please paste only PairFree's report into an issue, never an Android bug report. Install: download `PairFree-0.7.1.apk` below and open it, or get it from F-Droid once it is listed there. It updates 0.7.0 in place. ## Changes since 0.7.0 - **SOUNDPEATS: 39 more models**, every one in SOUNDPEATS' own model list (88 in all), and the **equalizer on 75 of them**, up from 4: each model's classic curve and presets as SOUNDPEATS' app sends them. The H3's and Air5 Pro+'s curves are updated to SOUNDPEATS' current ones. - **SOUNDPEATS Capsule3 Pro and Pro+**, built by QCY, now work: noise control, game mode, touch controls off, multipoint, touch controls and the equalizer. Like QCY's earbuds, Android asks once for permission to find nearby devices, which PairFree never uses for your location. - **TRUEFREE Clip C10:** the fifth EQ slider is at 1 kHz, as a user's recording showed (issue #9); the official app's reset curve is the TRUEFREE Classic preset. - **Hearing test:** its result is placed on the model's bands exactly as PeatsAudio does it, matching a user's C30 recording (issue #10). - The new SOUNDPEATS models and their equalizers have not been tried on real earbuds yet: a device report from any model helps (Device tab, Copy device report).

Install: download `PairFree-0.6.0.apk` below and open it, or get it from F-Droid once it is listed there. It updates 0.4.1 in place. ## Changes since 0.4.1 - **QCY**: 171 models from QCY's own product list, written from QCY's app and checked against the open-source OpenQCY-Desktop. QCY's own protocol over Bluetooth LE, and JieLi's RCSP for the models on JieLi's chips. - Battery, noise control with its scene, strength and transparency level, an equalizer curve of your own over the bands the earbuds report, balance, spatial audio, dynamic EQ, adaptive volume, touch controls (on the models with QCY's own protocol), game mode, in-ear detection, LDAC, two devices at once, sleep mode, wind noise detection, the status light and the timed power off. - QCY's earbuds advertise which model they are, so PairFree looks for them nearby: Android asks once for permission to find nearby devices, which PairFree never uses for your location. - Not yet: QCY's EQ presets (their values are on QCY's servers), the older JieLi models' EQ, the prompt volume and the fit test. - **1MORE**: 37 models, written from 1MORE's app 2.0.0, with what 1MORE's product list gives each model: battery, noise cancelling and transparency with their kinds, the preset sounds and a custom EQ curve, spatial audio, double and triple taps, two devices at once, the connection mode (standard, game or LDAC), what happens when you take them out, sleep detection, voice commands, finding a lost earbud, the HQ20's own voice and volume limit, and the NANO's light. Not yet: the music and sleep sound styles. The two Tuya models (S52, S22Ultra) are not covered.
