Private, offline money tracker in English and Arabic, in JOD and 27 currencies

Pocket Sense tracks your income, spending, budgets, bills and loans without an account and without the internet. Everything stays on your phone in an encrypted database. It leaves only as an encrypted backup, or, if you turn on sync, encrypted to your own paired devices on your Wi-Fi. **Private by design** - No sign-in, no servers, no ads, no analytics. The network is used only to sync with your own devices on your local network, and only if you turn that on. - Your data is encrypted with SQLCipher, using a key kept in the Android Keystore. - Optional app lock with a 4–6 digit PIN, and fingerprint or face unlock. **Made for Jordan** - Amounts in Jordanian dinars with three decimals (JOD 12.500), or in one of 27 other currencies, from SAR and AED to USD and EUR. - Full Arabic interface, right to left, with Latin digits. **Features** - Home: this month's income, spending and net, a 30-day spending chart, breakdowns by category and by merchant, income vs spending over 6 months, this month against last, and spending by weekday. - Activity: add, edit, search and filter transactions, each with a description, merchant and category. - Merchants: keep a list in Settings. The merchant field searches it as you type and adds names it doesn't find. - Voice entry (English): say "Spent 3.5 on lunch at Reem yesterday" and check the filled-in form. - Budgets: weekly or monthly limits per category, with progress and over-budget warnings. - Recurring: bills, subscriptions and salary with due dates, posted as transactions in one tap. - Loans: money you lend or borrow, per person, with partial repayments and due dates. Each payment is also a normal entry, so your totals follow the cash. - Backup: export everything to a password-encrypted file, or back up automatically once a day, and import it on another phone. - Sync: pair your phone with your computer or another phone, and keep the same data on both over your Wi-Fi. No server, no internet. Voice entry uses your phone's speech recognizer. On most phones that is a separate app with its own privacy terms; the sentence itself is interpreted inside Pocket Sense.

    ## 👁 Hide amounts Every amount now shows as **`JOD •••`** until you tap the 👁 in the top bar, so a glance at your screen gives nothing away (#19). It's the same `•••` for any value, with no sign, on every screen: cards, lists, charts and their tooltips. Tap the eye again to hide them; they also hide again after 30 seconds in the background and every time you open the app. Forms still show the real number you're typing. It's **on by default**, for existing users too. **Settings → Security → Hide amounts** turns it off. ## ➕ Quick add widget (Android) A home-screen widget with **Expense**, **Income** and 🎤 buttons opens the add form, or voice entry, in one tap (#18). Long-press the app icon for the same three. With the app lock on, the PIN or fingerprint comes first, and the widget never shows any amounts. It follows dark mode and the phone's language.

    ## 🥧 Monthly Income vs Spending A new chart on Home shows the income and spending of any month you pick, with a year and a month selector (#17). ## Fixes - A long amount, like "Spent this year", no longer wraps and overflows its card on Home. ## Download **Android** - Also on **[F-Droid](https://f-droid.org/packages/ace.software.pocketsense/)**, which keeps it updated. It ships these same signed APKs, so you can switch between the two and keep your data. - **`PocketSense-v2.4.2-arm64-v8a.apk`**: almost all modern Android phones. Use this one if unsure. - `PocketSense-v2.4.2-armeabi-v7a.apk`: older 32-bit phones - `PocketSense-v2.4.2-x86_64.apk`: emulators and Chromebooks Installs as an update over any earlier version and keeps your data. **Linux (x86_64)**: pick one. - **Debian, Ubuntu, Mint:** `PocketSense-v2.4.2-linux-x64.deb` ```sh sudo apt install ./PocketSense-v2.4.2-linux-x64.deb ``` - **Fedora, openSUSE:** `PocketSense-v2.4.2-linux-x64.rpm` ```sh sudo dnf install ./PocketSense-v2.4.2-linux-x64.rpm # or: sudo zypper install ``` - **Any distro:** `PocketSense-v2.4.2-linux-x64.AppImage`. Make it executable and run it. - **Any distro:** `PocketSense-v2.4.2-linux-x64.tar.gz`. Unpack it and run `./PocketSense/pocket_sense`. All need glibc 2.35 or newer and a running keyring (GNOME Keyring or KWallet). With the AppImage or the tarball you also need GTK 3, and `parecord` for voice entry (`pulseaudio-utils` on Debian/Ubuntu/Fedora, `libpulse` on Arch).
