- Apr 12, 2026 1.7.0## What's New **HLS Stream Support** Full HLS playback and recording support. Stations that use HLS (.m3u8) now play and record correctly, with recordings saved through MediaStore. This should resolve any stations not being able to be played from the RadioBrowser API. **fMP4/CMAF Support** Added fMP4/CMAF segment playback and recording support for both DASH and HLS streams. I do not believe RadioBrowser supports stations of this format, but if you have a custom station link the app will now be able to play and record it. **Tor Auto-Detection** The app now automatically detects if a Tor SOCKS5 proxy is already running on your device (from InviZible, Orbot, etc.) and routes traffic through it without needing to manually press the connect button. If a proxy is active on port 9050, the app picks it up automatically.

## Security - Fixed cover art images leaking to the lockscreen when cover art was disabled in settings. SecureImageLoader was bypassing the disabled check, so album art could still be fetched and displayed on your lock screen even with the cover art disabled setting turned on. ## Bug Fixes - Metadata now updates immediately instead of waiting behind cover art load - Default radio icon now shows in miniplayer and now playing when cover art is disabled, instead of blank space - ## What's New **Material 3 UI Overhaul** Migrated dialogs, popups, menus, and layouts from default Android/AppCompat to Material 3 design for a more modern, consistent look across the app. **Custom Genre Tagging** You can now type your own custom genres in the Add/Edit Radio Station dialog instead of being limited to the preset genre list. **Clearnet over Tor Fallback for Radio Registry API** In Force Tor mode, the app now falls back to the clearnet Radio Registry API routed over Tor if the .onion address fails to respond. Previously, if the .onion was down, no stations would load. Now it tries the .onion first, and if that fails, calls the clearnet API - still routing everything through Tor.

## Bug Fixes - Finally fixed placeholder cover art icon appearing small in the mini player and now playing screen - Fixed genre display in radio registry browse showing network prefix ## Dependencies - androidx.constraintlayout 2.1.4 → 2.2.1 - androidx.viewpager2 1.0.0 → 1.1.0 Two very minor changes post initial release: Removed adb backup option for added security for rooted/debuggable devices. This means that you or an attacker with physical device access will not be able to recover any saved data in the app via adb, including proxy passwords. Please remember to store your passwords somewhere safe so you don't forget them, and remember if you are seriously worried about security, having a debuggable/rooted phone is not a viable option!
