The missing context of places. Mafrend brings conversations, shared places, and time-bound location updates together on one map. It gives a place the context of the people and messages around it, whether you are sharing a destination one-to-one or planning with a private circle. Share a rich POI link in chat and open the place directly in Mafrend. Keep a useful destination close to its conversation instead of losing the plan in a stream of messages. When a trip, community, or close circle needs a private space, create a Marmot-based private group. Its creator is the initial admin, responsible for membership, shareable invite links, and access requests. Members can exchange encrypted messages and media, save durable Group Places, and send explicit time-bound User Location Messages when an “I’m here” update matters. What you can do: - Explore the living map with real-time conversations, places, and location updates. - Chat one-to-one with rich replies, reactions, link previews, and media. - Create private encrypted groups with shareable invite links and encrypted media. - Save shared group places and coordinate with time-bound location messages. - Discover user profiles, verified identities, and place reviews. - Share places, map views, and profiles via deep links and QR codes. - Use your portable Nostr identity with no platform lock-in. Mafrend 1.3 is an alpha release as we continue refining the living map.
