  ## 1.4.5 - Videos up to 60 seconds now always fit: on some phones the video encoder used a much higher bitrate than asked, so long videos came out too large to send. The app now sets the encoder's bitrate mode and, if a video still comes out too large, encodes it again a little smaller. - Received videos show real download progress ("Downloading 6.2 / 20.2 MB") with tap to cancel. - The play button is centred.

  ## 1.4.4 - Mined rewards show their real state: rewards mined before block 979,919 are mature (the last ones within hours), and the Knots 29.4.3 relay policy moves them after 6,480 blocks (about 45 days); rewards from block 979,919 wait 25,920 blocks (about 180 days). - Each reward shows which hold applies, the blocks left and an estimated date; no reward shows "immature, 0 blocks" anymore. - Sending leaves out rewards that are still held and says when the first one moves. - Android: tapping a picture in COMMUNITY or LOUNGE opens it full screen. - Android: tapping the runes next to a name no longer closes the app. - Stickers in private groups: the same picker as private chats, including this month's WHALE pack. - Photos: a new editor before sending, with free or fixed-ratio crop (square, 4:3, 16:9), rotate and an optional caption; location data is removed from the photo. - GIFs: send animated GIFs from your gallery or files.

  - Videos: send videos of up to 60 seconds in private chats and groups, trimmed and compressed on your phone and end-to-end encrypted. They stay on the server for 24 hours. - Videos from people who aren't your contacts play only when you tap them, and only standard H.264 video with AAC sound is opened. - Fixes. - Safer chat images: pictures from people who are not your contacts are no longer shown by themselves; tap to view them, with a one-time warning. Only JPEG, PNG and GIF images are opened, in a separate protected process. Settings › Chat › "Show images automatically" (Contacts only by default). - Every way of moving funds (send, separate, ricochet, mesh, Gebo, Collaborative Send, Lightning payments and channels) now needs your confirmation right then. - Sending needs a screen lock on the phone; without one the app explains how to set it. Receiving and your balance are not affected. - Lightning (Laguz): the connection is sealed with your spending password; with the wallet locked, Lightning shows as locked until you unlock it. - Group pictures show only when the group was created by you or one of your contacts. - New "Staying safe" section in Settings. - The monthly WHALE sticker pack now shows under THIS MONTH. - Fixes WHALE members of the BLAKE2b Lounge who couldn't post from Android. - Private groups (beta): encrypted groups of up to 256 people, with invitations by message, link or QR; turn them on in Settings › Chat. - Bluetooth mesh: private messages now reach a contact's phone nearby even when neither phone has internet. - Post-quantum: new private conversations between 1.4 phones use hybrid ML-KEM-768 + secp256k1 key agreement; look for the PQ mark in the chat header. - Plus fixes for private chat after a chat identity change, messages that couldn't be opened, and messages sent while offline.
