MoonApp

MoonApp calculates moonrise, lunar transit and moonset for any location on Earth, handles the timezone properly, and says plainly when the moon does not rise or set at all on a given day, which at Norwegian latitudes happens regularly. It also reports the current phase, the illuminated fraction and the distance to the moon, and the dates of the next new and full moon. It can wake you by the moon rather than by the clock. Set an alarm for moonrise, for moonset, or for a fixed offset either side of one, and it recomputes as the lunar cycle moves rather than firing at a time you had to work out yourself. It never touches the network. There is no INTERNET permission, so it cannot, and the astronomical calculation is entirely local. Locations come from a bundled catalogue of 25,007 cities, the same catalogue the website uses, or from coordinates you type in yourself. Nothing you enter leaves the device: there is no account, no analytics, no advertising identifier and no telemetry of any kind. MoonApp is a functioning prototype, published to show what Stormberry AS builds. It is not a certified instrument, not a professional service, and not a substitute for an authoritative source.
